Don't touch that dial! Darlene's on the air!

Friday, June 12 from 1-2 p.m. ET I'll be on Conner Calling, a phone-in/email-in radio talk show on WUFT/WJUF FM , the University of Florida public radio affiliate. We'll be talking books, writing, romance, probably a little about film, wander off into odd topics, and bring it back around for more talk about writing romance novels. It'll be fun--I do these shows with Hank Conner at least once a year, and it's a great way to connect with folks. You don't have to be in North Central Florida to listen, either! You can stream it live, and email in questions from anywhere in the world that you have a good internet connection. Dang, I love living in the 21st Century!

Image via Wikipedia On the Air! My alter ego, who normally has a far less exciting life than Darlene Marshall (and much more boring shoes), will be on the air during Morning Edition at Classic 89/Nature Coast 90 on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. If you live in North Central Florida and you listen to public radio, now is the time to pledge your support. Go to WUFT/WJUF and pledge on-line or on the phone. And if you pledge during Morning Edition, please be sure to say "Hi!"

I was assured this was very good for a Tuesday in the middle of the drive, and I'm willing to accept that. Today in honor of Earth Day we pushed thank-you gifts like a lovely Florida butterfly gardening book, reusable totes, and a guide to scenic North Florida. We did good and did well. As always, it was fun being back on the air. I miss my radio days. Not the days of sitting through long land use meetings or getting called out in the middle of supper to go to a fire, but being on the air. Let's face it, there's a lot of egoboo in broadcasting and it still tickles me that people recognize me by my voice--just t...
